Choose a Tale for a written, branching adventure
Every Tale scene is written ahead of time. Pick from the choices on screen, follow clues, and decide what deserves your time. Your class, gift, and old life can open different approaches. Dice rolls and your decisions affect the path to an ending.
Tales are free. Start without an account; when you reach the guest stopping point, create a free account to continue and keep your run. Tale actions do not use your AI-adventure allowance.
- The Red Lamp: follow objects from your old world toward a mysterious lighthouse.
- The Storm at Thornwatch: prepare a mountain fort for an ash ogre and decide how to face the night.
- The Empty Crossing: investigate a ferry that returns without its passengers and prepare a rescue before high water.
Choose AI for an open-ended fantasy RPG
In AI adventures, type an action or choose a suggestion. AI writes scenes and character dialogue in response to your play, while the rules determine dice rolls, damage, rewards, and progression. In combat, use the available attacks, class moves, skills, items, and escape options, or type a move. Each resolved combat round uses an adventure turn.
Explore towns and roads, take guild quests, recruit companions, and work toward harder dungeons. This mode is for finding your own next step rather than following a Tale’s written branches and endings. See how a solo AI RPG plays for an example.
AI adventures require an account and verified email. Free accounts have daily and monthly adventure-turn limits; paid plans offer larger monthly allowances. Your AI allowance is shared across your adventurers. See current plans and limits before choosing.
What both modes share
Both run in your browser and use character stats, class skills, and dice-based combat. Your adventure saves after each turn. On an account, you can return to your saved heroes from Your adventurers. A new adventure uses one of your available save slots, so check your saves before starting another hero.
You do not need to know tabletop RPG rules before playing. The How It Works page explains the dice, stats, classes, and gifts.
