New

  • A new Tale: The Empty Crossing

A ferry returns to Port Merrow without its passengers. Follow the clues and decide whose account the harbor will hear in a new free, written mystery.

  • See how much daylight remains

AI adventures now show a countdown of 40 actions until nightfall. You can keep going at night with −1 to attacks and skill checks, or rest at an inn for a new morning.

  • Send feedback from your account

Use Account → Send feedback to report a bug or tell us what could be better. You can link an adventure to help us investigate.

  • Lend equipment to your companions

Give spare weapons and armor to companions through your Bag, and take them back through Party. Each companion can use gear that fits their fighting style.

  • Achievements, titles and a bestiary

Earn achievements and choose a title for your hero. Discoveries also records the foes you have met, so you can revisit what you have learned.

  • Make a class your own

Describe a class during AI-adventure setup and review an AI-assisted version built around an existing combat style, with its skills and equipment rules shown before you choose.

  • More reasons to return to town

Find daily guild notices and town encounters across Twillune, including a merchant’s story in Brookhollow. Quiet moments in town give your hero room to reflect.

  • A gentler adventure with Story mode

Choose Story mode when creating an AI adventure to play without lasting wounds or permanent deaths. Defeat still costs gold, experience and a return to town.

  • A face for your hero

AI adventures can now draw a portrait of your hero and display it beside their name while you play.

  • Named foes and bounty hunts

Pick up a bounty at the guild to hunt a named foe in the wilds. These enemies bring their own traits, rewards, and reasons to prepare before heading out.

  • Upgrade your gear at the smith

In AI adventures, visit the shop’s smith to hone weapons for more damage or reinforce armor for better protection. Each piece can be improved once.

  • More ways to read a fight

Enemy traits and effects such as burn, slow, weak, and exposed give you more to plan around. Check a foe’s trait and its counter before choosing your move.

  • Written adventures with choices and endings

Play The Red Lamp, The Storm at Thornwatch or The Empty Crossing: written adventures with set choices and endings. All are free to play in your browser.

Improved

  • Faces for the people in Tales

In The Red Lamp, The Storm at Thornwatch and The Empty Crossing, portraits sit to the left of each speaker’s name and dialogue, with a compact layout on phones. The People you have met list uses matching faces to help you keep track of the cast.

  • A clear moment when a foe falls

Defeated enemies are named after the dice, and a won fight gets a VICTORY heading before the story continues. Status has a cleaner frame, and the healing and mana recipient picker is easier to read.

  • Feel every combat roll

See a tumbling d20, its result and the damage it caused together. Round results stay open, enemy health always shows exact HP with a colored bar, and longer action names keep their buttons aligned.

  • A route back to the main story

AI adventures keep a campaign next step beside your conversation choices. Find the relevant guild work, map route or inn conversation without giving up companion scenes.

  • A fairer first companion in the Forge

In AI adventures, entering the Forge of the Sleeping Wyrm with one companion adds less enemy health. Solo fights, larger parties and enemy damage are unchanged.

  • More choices that matter in The Red Lamp

Preparation now buys time when someone needs saving, the clock makes you choose which errands to run, and the endings follow what you did. Every old life, class, gift and death now has a moment of its own.

    Play The Red Lamp
  • A fuller night at Thornwatch

In The Storm at Thornwatch, every plan now costs something, preparation shows up in the fights it changes, and each ending leaves a mark on the pass ten days later.

    Play The Storm at Thornwatch
  • More choices that matter in The Empty Crossing

How you search, who you ask for a boat and what you say for the survivors now change the rescue and its aftermath. Each ending follows the harbor ten days on.

    Play The Empty Crossing
  • Keep track of who is who in Tales

Tales now list the people you have met and what you know about them, under Threads on wide screens and in Status on phones.

  • Browse updates by month

What’s New now groups changes by month. The latest month opens first, and you can expand earlier months to catch up.

  • Know what a Tale choice will cost

Tale choices show their requirements and consequences before you commit, with time summaries only when a choice advances the clock. Combat controls stay readable on narrow phone screens.

  • More room for the story

The adventure screen puts reading first, with game panels close at hand. Early guidance points you toward a guild job, its reward and recovery when you need it.

  • More help preparing for a fight

After a defeat in an AI adventure, eligible heroes short on gold can work for board at the inn to recover. Scouting also keeps a spotted encounter available while you decide whether to engage or avoid it.

  • Find help and panels faster

Open Menu → Help for combat guidance and turn costs. Keyboard shortcuts open game panels, and you can disable them in your settings.

  • Paid adventures without a daily turn cap

Paid plans no longer have a separate daily turn cap; their included monthly turns still apply. The Free plan keeps its daily and monthly limits.

    Compare plans and turn allowances
  • A quicker start to your adventure

Character creation now offers a quick start and recommended builds, helping you get into the story with less setup.

  • Clearer advice after a defeat

Back in town, recovery guidance explains how wounds affect your maximum health, what an inn stay costs, and your options when gold is short.

  • Know what changes when a Tale continues

Before carrying a Tale into an AI adventure, you can review what comes with your hero, how turns work, and what wounds and defeats mean for the journey ahead.

  • More to do while narration is unavailable

When AI narration is temporarily unavailable or a limit is reached, the game explains why. You can still manage your bag, visit the shop and guild, or play a written Tale.

  • A community story in the spotlight

The Latest stories page now highlights a story of the week, giving you another place to start reading other players’ adventures.

    Read community stories
  • Read at your own pace

Use the Reading settings during an adventure to adjust text size, spacing, and the length of new AI narration.

Fixed

  • More story room in crowded phone fights

Crowded fights on narrow phones leave more room for the story while keeping names, health, traits and the selected target visible.

  • Menu shortcuts resume after enemy details close

Open your Bag or another game panel straight after closing enemy details. Quick key presses no longer get blocked by a popover that has already closed.

  • Unresolved actions keep your adventure turns

Typed actions that need clarification no longer spend an adventure turn. Free clarification attempts have a daily limit; you can still use the available buttons and menus when you reach it.

  • Combat retries keep the move you meant

An explicit retry during a fight now repeats your last resolved move in that fight, so a request to try again can advance combat.

  • Level up after the story catches up

Level-up choices wait for the turn’s narration, and conversations better preserve your reading position.

  • Recover an interrupted character setup

If quick setup is interrupted, you can reload the saved setup before making more changes and continue from what was saved.

  • Check odds include your equipment

The odds shown for stat checks now include equipment bonuses, so you can better judge your next move.

  • Typed combat commands follow your intent

Clear commands such as “guard” or “flee” now use the matching combat action. Questions and ambiguous standard commands are rejected instead of being treated as improvised attacks.

  • Keep your place while reading

Finishing a streamed narration no longer pulls you back to the top of the turn after you have scrolled down to read.
